April 14, 2023 - After 20 consecutive Mega Millions draws without a winner, New York Lottery history was made when a player from Queens landed the state’s biggest-ever jackpot, worth $476 million. The winner purchased their ticket from Liberty Beer & Convenience in Ozone Park, and was later revealed to be Johnnie Taylor from Queens. He chose the lump sum of $253 million.

September 21, 2021 - A pizza produced a whole lotta dough for one lucky Mega Millions player. The ticket, purchased at Pronto Pizza on West 48th Street, matched all six numbers - the white balls 36, 41, 45, 51 and 56, and the gold Mega Ball 13. The prize was claimed a couple of months later by two players – who formed a group known as Goodtimez, LLC. One was from Manhattan and the other from Hillsboro, New Jersey. They took the cash lump sum of $315 million.

Retired Government Employee Wins $343M on Powerball

October 27, 2018 - The biggest Powerball prize ever paid out in New York went to Robert Bailey, a retired government employee who had bought his ticket from a deli in Harlem. The jackpot was worth $687 million and was split between Bailey and another player from Iowa. Bailey decided to take his share of the money as a lump sum, and set his sights on travelling to Las Vegas and the Caribbean. He also revealed that he wanted to ‘give back to Manhattan’, and promised to keep playing the lottery.

January 5, 2021 - If you bought a Cash4Life ticket in the Bronx for Tuesday's draw, check your numbers - you could be NYC's newest millionaire! The ticket matched the five main winning numbers on January 5: 19, 29, 45, 51, and 52, only missing the Cash Ball, which was 2. The winner has one year from the date of the drawing to step forward and claim their prize.

December 1, 2020 - The New York Series Scratch-off game has paid off big-time for Lisbon resident Austin Cadrette, who has claimed a $1 million top prize. The winning ticket was sold by Parkway Country Store on State Route 37 in Ogdensburg.

"I put the ticket in a safe spot when I realized I won," Cadrette said. He chose to take the winnings as a single cash option payment that totalled $618,056 after withholdings. What will he do with the awesome payout? "I plan to invest in real estate," he told lottery officials.
